Each year, around 1,600 public school children in need attend the Stewart House 12-day residential wellbeing program, completely free of charge. During their stay, children receive healthcare assessments, wellbeing support, nutritious meals, recreational experiences, and the opportunity to build confidence, resilience and connection.

For many children, it’s a chance to step away from challenges, be cared for, and return home feeling happier, healthier and more engaged in school.

A Few Quick Facts About Stewart House

• Supporting children from NSW public schools since 1931
• Around 1,600 children attend the program each year
• 12-day residential wellbeing program overlooking Curl Curl Beach
• Healthcare, wellbeing support, recreation and respite in one program

• Only 8% of our annual funding comes from government sources
• More than $5 million is needed each year to operate the program
• Approximately $2,500 provides one child with a complete Stewart House experience

About the Curl Curl Surf Cam

Stewart House has hosted the Curl Curl Surf Cam for many years. The camera was originally installed by Coastalwatch due to our unique location overlooking Curl Curl Beach. We agreed to host the camera as a service to the community and did not receive financial benefit from the arrangement.

When Surfline acquired the service in 2021, access to the stream changed. This decision was made independently of Stewart House and is not something we can influence.

As a small team focused on supporting children, we kindly ask that enquiries regarding Surfline subscriptions or camera access be directed to Surfline so our team can remain focused on supporting the children who need us most.
