Term 3 2025

Changing Children’s lives

During each program group at Stewart House, children experience care, belonging, and support. Alumni often reflect on friendships and memories that shaped their futures. We are honoured when students reach out, like Maddie, whose story shows the lasting impact of each stay and why your support matters.

“I attended Stewart House back in 2015. I am 20 now, and I often think about my time there. I wanted to reach out to say how grateful I am that I was chosen to go.

My childhood was really rough, and the 12 days I spent at Stewart House were some of my happiest memories as a kid. From the friends I made, to the proper meals we were given, it all made such a difference. I was so happy to have a break from my home life that I didn’t want to leave, and I’m sure many other children feel the same.

I am now studying a Bachelor of Social Work so I can help children in similar situations. What you do at Stewart House is amazing, and I hope that one day I can work there. You are giving these children so much opportunity in life simply by showing them that someone cares.” – Maddie

Term 3 Highlights

We offered 416 placements across five intake groups to students from 511 public primary and high schools in New South Wales. The 12-day Stewart House Program provides each cohort with a consistent and supportive residential experience. Students joined us from both metropolitan and regional areas including Liverpool, Dubbo, Port Macquarie, Moree, Hornsby, Lismore, Albury, Deniliquin, Tweed Heads, Ballina, Penrith, the Blue Mountains, Broken Hill, and Bankstown.
Thanks to your generosity, children at Stewart House experience the joys of childhood in a caring environment. Each day brings nourishing meals, health screenings, creative arts, excursions, and social and emotional learning activities that build confidence, resilience, and friendships.

Every group follows a carefully integrated and planned program that ensures a consistent and meaningful experience, with seasonal highlights adding extra sparkle. This term, students cheered on long-time Stewart House supporters the Manly Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval and enjoyed stronger community connections through visits from two experienced First Nations educators who worked alongside our Aboriginal Education Officer, Jack Hickey, in the Stewart House School.

Supporter Spotlight: The School Photographer

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to The School Photographer, for generously supplying professional photography to help refresh our image library. This edition of our newsletter showcases their work, helping us share the joy, energy, and everyday moments of our students with supporters and the wider community.

The children were cooperative, engaged, and excited throughout the photo sessions, making it a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved.
