Term 4 2025

Term 4 2025, Program Highlights

In the final term hundreds of children from across NSW and the ACT spent twelve days in our care. Children travelled from Armidale, Newcastle, St George, Queanbeyan, Mid North Coast, Parramatta, Bourke, Shellharbour, ACT and Campbelltown. They arrived carrying many stories and a mix of emotions, and they left with new confidence, hope and connection. Our facility has been alive with learning, activities, meals shared, small wins and fun.

Reflections for 2025

Making a Difference Every Fortnight
In 2025, our enrolment calendar ran alongside the NSW Department of Education’s school terms. We hosted 20 groups across the year, with five groups each term, giving placements to up to 84 children each fortnight. These students came together for a safe and supportive experience. We are truly grateful for the community support that allows us to offer this program at no cost to carers.

Thank You to Principals
Public school principals across NSW and the ACT played an essential part in helping children attend Stewart House. They identified students who would benefit from a stay and guided families through the nomination process. Their insight and care help us reach young people when they need support most, and we thank them for standing beside us in this work.

Our Program and Community in Action
Our program teams keep everything running smoothly. From school days to after-school activities, they provide routines, encouragement, and care. Our on-site health and wellbeing support helps children stay happy, healthy, and ready to make the most of every day. The High Five rewards program recognises children for being safe, kind, fair, and giving things a go. Birthday surprises, year-round activities, and Christmas gifts, added extra joy, made possible by our generous donors and supporters.

Joey Joy Flight

A huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Turramurra for inviting our students on the Qantas Pathfinders Charity Flight – “Joey Joy”! This long-running community tradition brings together Rotary, Qantas, Pathfinders, and many generous volunteers to give children a joyful ninety-minute flight over Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong.

Our students had an incredible day filled with colour, laughter and first-time flight excitement. We are so grateful to everyone involved for creating such a memorable experience for our students.

Thank You

A sincere thank you to the individuals, clubs, corporate organisations, and social groups who brought extra cheer to children throughout the year and this Christmas. We’re grateful for your ongoing support through both monetary donations and in-kind goods and services.

The many items we receive that provide the essentials and the extras for the children.

Help Change a Child’s Life

Your support helps Stewart House provide children with the care and experiences that truly make a difference. Every act of generosity gives hope for a brighter future. This Christmas, you can help continue that impact, and together we can give children a meaningful and memorable stay.

The students themselves often describe the impact better than anyone:

“I’ve had a great time, as there were some things at home I needed to get off my chest. It’s a truly loveful place.”

“I was scared I would make no friends and I thought I would be lonely. But, I kept on going and by the second week, I had so many friends and I’m grateful for that.”

Your kindness creates these moments. Thank you for being part of their journey.
