Term 4, 2022 Program Highlights
In the final Term of 2022, we returned to operating at pre-COVID levels, with up to 84 children invited per group for the full 12-day Program. The children arrived from NSW regional areas surrounding the Central Coast/Upper Hunter, Orange/Bathurst, Dubbo and Broken Hill/Moree.
Fortunately, the weather improved in Sydney, and the sun came out on display for our visiting children. This term also began a new excursion opportunity where the children could visit Madame Tussauds and Sydney Sea Life Aquarium.
A special tour of NSW Parliament House
On Tuesday, 15 November 2022, a group of students and staff from Stewart House enjoyed a special-planned tour of the NSW Parliament House.
Thirteen enthusiastic students from the surrounding areas of Lachlan, Orange and Bathurst were invited to meet with politicians in the private space of The Speaker’s Garden.
Local members from the electorates where these children come from are Philip Donato, Orange Electorate, and Deputy Premier Paul Toole MP, Bathurst Electorate.
A chance invitation to sit in the Legislative Council (LC) Gallery at Question Time delivered a spellbinding theatrical display for students and staff! The President of the LC even paused the session briefly to welcome the Stewart House students and comment on the raucous exchange between Members.
Special thanks to the offices of James Griffin MP, Philip Donato, and Paul Toole MP for their planning support and assistance. It was a truly fabulous opportunity!

EVENTS
CANCELLED: Boxing Day on the Harbour
In our previous update, we shared the news that Transdev Sydney Ferries, our valued partner, has advised that they are not in a position to support us this year.
With consecutive cancellations (in 2020, 2021, and now 2022) resulting in our charity’s subsequent loss of income, we invite you to please consider donating via our website. All donations over $2 are tax-deductible.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN 2022!
We look forward to sharing more great moments in 2023.
